1928 Wilhelm Eicker laid the foundation for the Solingen cutlery company that still bears his name. He started by making industry and special purpose knives.

1937 was the first major factory enlargement which enabled space for special machinery. The programme became amended.

1949 the founder´s son, Heinz Eicker, entered the firm as personally responsible partner and embarked on extensive travels throughout Germany and the rest of Europe.

1973 Mr. Wilhelm Eicker died and his grandson Thomas Eicker entered into the company and began promoting sales to overseas markets like USA, Canada and the Far and Middle East, where customers of major importance were won. After some years the factoty became too small and a new one was in planning.

1981 was the start into a new future. The company moved into the new 1200 square meter factory building. New machinery became installed. Due to it it was possible to increase the quality of the products a lot. A new line of professional butcher knives was created, which was the real start into meat processing business. EICKER MESSER have been the first who received the “GS safety mark” from the TÜV inspection board for this line of knives.

1982 the company received the biggest order of about 11 Mio. DM, which ever existed in Solingen. The capacities had to be created and new workmen became employed. The order has been executed only after 10 months.

In the coming years the company became more and more popular in the international market. New agencies have been founded and in the moment EICKER KNIVES are being exported into 42 countries. Due to this the products are shown on many international trade fairs worldwide. Also in Germany the EICKER products became more popular and belong also here to the leading brands in the meat equipment market.

Today all products are manufactured on modern machines, which guarantee the highest level of quality. The indefatigable effort and the struggle for quality have made WILHELM EICKER to one of the leading manufacturers of professional cutlery worldwide. Our products have international reputation and it is our interest to continue this in the future.
